Judy Ann Jamerson

Judy Ann Jamerson is always and forever will be known as authentic. She is a perceptive, wise, truthful, and compassionate soul. Her life experiences tell the story of a motherless young girl, with her three siblings raised by her grandmother and her aunt in a familial community. She grew to become a passionate woman and gifted singer, a devoted and loving mother, and a genuine friend who leads with her heart.

Educated in the Los Angeles Public School system, Judy attended Jefferson High School, Manual Arts Senior High School and Los Angeles High School, then graduated and received her diploma from Whitney Young Continuation High School while expecting her first born. Judy is proudly the mother of Janae, Tracy, Delion, Marion, Jr., Rashied, Billy, Jamal, Mavery and Cresia, several who have earned significant accomplishments of their own.

Widowed when her youngest was a baby, Judy responded seemingly fearless of the world in which she’d navigate life as a single mother in South Central Los Angeles. She endured the unthinkable in order to maintain her equilibrium and thrive. Her faith and melodic voice kept her forever in fellowship at Harmony Missionary Baptist Church from a young girl singing in the youth choir, The Moments of Faith where she was recorded singing Never Alone.

Judy moved to West Virginia starting a new chapter of her life. She created a not-for-profit organization named An Act of Kindness; a program designed to help underprivileged youth in the community. Judy joined in fellowship with Shiloh Missionary Baptist in Charleston, West Virginia where her voice continues to resound praises to the Most High.

Judy shares lessons of life, survival and human decency. She has a list of books to share a life thoroughly lived and dreams yet to conquer. I am proud to call her my friend, my sister, a starlight from the neighborhood.
