Roger Badesch
Born in Chicago, Roger Badesch was raised in nearby Evanston, IL by working parents and an extended family that included old-school Chicago precinct workers.
With a degree in broadcasting along with minor studies in government, Badesch added to his training later in life with education courses as he embarked on a 20 year career as a high school teacher.
In between, his unplanned path took him into the inner offices of Chicago city hall, behind the beginning push of the gourmet coffee craze and into the homes of thousands of people as a news anchor at WGN Radio in Chicago.
A cancer survivor, Badesch’s life stories as told on the radio and on his Facebook page, continue to inform and inspire.
