This Spring, Marist High School’s “Chicago Literature” class is reading “The Jungle,” “The House on Mango Street,” “A Raisin in the Sun” and “The Living Wills,” by yours truly and Rick Kaempfer. Not bad company. I’m ecstatic and humbled.
Love the idea of a kid not being able to go out with his friends because he has to read our book! “Aw mom, C’mon. Do I really have to read Sullivan and Kaempfer?” Yes, you do, kid. Yes you do. (Snicker)
