Russ Fahrner was born in Chicago in 1949. He recently celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary with his wife Pat. They have 3 children and 3 grandchildren. A highlight this year was taking his grandson, Eli for college visits. He loves Florida and resides there 4 months of the year. His passion beside family is water and boating. Russ attended Quigley South and graduated from St. Ignatius High School. The book begins by identifying the authors’ Chicago journeys. Bruce and Russ grew up in Chicago and have great memories of the south and north sides. By their college years they both lived with their families outside of Chicago. Bruce continued to visit the city to dine, listen to music and work. Russ returned to living in Chicago in 2013 and fell back in love with this great urban center. Both relate how stories at gatherings about Chicago are so vibrant, interesting, and fun. They love talking about Chicago neighborhoods, the parishes, schools, movie theaters, pizza, parks, dining, museums, and of course the Sox and Cubs.
They explore a definition for the big question, what makes you happy in retirement?
