On Friday afternoon I drove out to Michigan City Indiana (about a two hour drive from Eckhartz Press headquarters) to attend a lunchtime event with John Records Landecker at the very classy Lubeznik Center for the Arts. We were thrilled with the turnout (noon on a Friday?), and had a great time.
John was given a microphone–and guess what–he was quite comfortable telling tales from the book and beyond. The highlight of the presentation was when John showed the home movies he took inside the WLS studios in the 1970s, including a guest appearance by Wolfman Jack. John did a very credible Wolfman impersonation as he narrated the film.
We sold quite a few books, told some stories, and met some great people. Thanks to everyone for coming out, including the Herald Argus who wrote this very nice article about the event. By the way, John also signed a few copies of “Records Truly Is My Middle Name” and left them at the Lubeznik center gift shop. If you’re in the area, and want to pick up a signed copy, that’s the place to do it.
Another event is scheduled for Wednesday (also at noon) at the LaPorte County Library.
