Summary
“A Reluctant Immigrant” is a memoir and menu written by Felizitas Sudendorf. She was born a farmer’s daughter in a small peaceful village in Romania, very near the Black Sea. World War II transformed her young life and that of her family as they were shuffled from city to city and country to country as refugees throughout Eastern Europe. Her tumultuous journey eventually brought her to the quiet village of Skokie, Illinois. Felizitas passed away in August of 2013, just eight months after the book was published, but she will always live on in the pages of “A Reluctant Immigrant”.
