John Records Landecker is coming to the South Side of Chicago, and will be appearing live in person at the Beverly Arts Center as part of the author afternoons series.
The Beverly Review announced it this way this past week: “Author Afternoons, a book discussion event featuring Chicago area writers who read from and discuss their works, will welcome John Records Landecker, legendary disc jockey and author of “Records Truly is My Middle Name,” on Sunday, July 14, at 3 p.m., at the Beverly Arts Center (BAC), 2407 W. 111th St. After a 40-year career as a major market disc jockey, John Records Landecker and his former executive producer at WJMK Rick Kaempfer have written the story of Landecker’s amazing life and extraordinary career.”Author Afternoons is hosted by Penny Golden, an accomplished interviewer. She will talk to John about his life story, ask him questions about the book and the writing process, and then will open it up for a Q&A session for attendees.
The book “Records Truly Is My Middle Name” will be available for purchase at the free event, and John will happily autograph your copy. For those of you in the Beverly neighborhood who want to pick it up and read the book before the event, it’s available at Bookies.
Don’t miss this event because it’s the last one John will be doing this summer. He is undergoing knee surgery the following day and won’t be able to make any additional appearances until fall.
For more details about John’s appearance (co-author Rick Kaempfer will also be in attendance), check out the Beverly Arts Center website.
Cynthia Denny says
John records landecker, I called you when I arrived in Chicago in the nineties remembering you from my high school days at Everett when you were at The radio station near the high school. Me and 3 other gals from our Lunch Bunch got to come in your studio. It was so big deal for us back then. When I went to Chicago and heard you on the radio it was like a welcome to the city, Thanks for the Memories, Cynthia Denny
